Irish engineering and automation solutions company, Reliance, has announced the appointment of Simon Coveney as non-executive director, as the fourth-generation family business celebrates its 100th year.

Founded in 1925, Reliance has established itself as a trusted provider of engineering solutions, delivering an extensive range of engineering components, technical services, and customised automation solutions across the island of Ireland.

Working with customers in the industrial, bio-pharma, renewables and agriculture sectors, the company continues to evolve with a particular focus on technical capability, robotics, automation, sustainability and efficiency.

Employing 53, the business has seen double digit growth in each of the last five years, has a significant footprint nationally, including in Cork and Limerick and operates a new state-of-the-art facility in Dublin which houses a robotics and automation technologies hub.

Mr Coveney brings a wealth of experience and a distinguished career in public service to his new role and his strategic insights and leadership skills are expected to contribute significantly to the company’s ongoing growth and success.

Reliance is a finalist in the 2025 Cork Chamber Company of the Year Awards in the SME category.
