On Saturday, 2nd November all cyclists are invited to Kiworth to partake in an end of season cycling sportive and table quiz.
During the summer of 2013 a new cycling club formed in Kiworth. Over the summer and heading into the autumn, this new club has been involving cyclists of all levels in partaking in twice weekly cycle spins. Now as it nears season end, the club is organising three events on Saturday, November 2nd to cater for cyclists of all abilities and also non cyclists.
The first event is an 80km cycle sportive taking in a route which takes in four counties. Leaving Kilworth the spin will head to Ballyduff, Lismore (Waterford) and climb up over The Vee to Clogheen and Ballyporeen (Tipperary) and continue to Kilbehenny (Limerick) and return via Mitchelstown to Kilworth.
The second event is a 30km cycle sportive where the route will go from Kilworth, Mountain Barracks, Ballygiblin, Kilbehenny, Mitchelstown and back to Kilworth.
Both of these cycles will group together at the Glocca Maura Inn and return together to Kilworth village. Registration is from 9.30am in The Square, Kilworth on Saturday, November 2nd and the cost is just €10 per cyclist.
The 80km route can be viewed on http://ridewithgps.com/routes/34927 and the 30km route can be viewed on http://ridewithgps.com/34926
Please come along and support this cycling event and enjoy what promises to be a fitting finale to our first year.
Then the last event on the day is a table quiz taking place in Jimmy’s Bar, the Square Kilworth. Table cost for quiz is €20 per table. It is an opportunity for all who have partaken in cycling and friends of Kilworth Cycling Club to challenge each other’s intelligence and have a great social end to the day.
