Gardaí urge caution after tragic weekend on Irish roads

With the August Bank Holiday weekend upon us, Gardaí are appealing to the public to take extra care on the roads after five people lost their lives last weekend.

The five road deaths involved people aged 14 to 41, which meant Gardaí found themselves on five separate doorsteps delivering the dreaded news to affected families.

Garda Superintendent Liam Geraghty said the thoughts of every member of An Garda Síochána are with the families of the deceased at this time.
