– €50m in funding projected –
The Science Foundation Ireland Research Centre, which has been led out of Teagasc Moorepark since 2018, is to enter its second 6-year phase, providing a significant economic boost to the locality.
VistaMilk is the only Science Foundation Ireland research centre co-funded by two governmental departments – the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine and the Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science – demonstrating the collaborative governmental commitment to pioneering innovative research that benefits various aspects of society.
The announcement at the launch on May 14th at the Mansion House in Dublin, is a major injection to the local economy – the centre will hire more than 100 new staff and researchers, the majority of which will be based out of Teagasc, Moorepark, located outside Fermoy.
