Over the past week, there have been two burglaries – one in Sandville, Glanworth on November 29 between noon and 12.30 at a residential property where a number of items were taken, and another at the community centre in Kilbehenny on the same day, between 5pm and 6pm.
THREE DRINK DRIVERS
There were three drink driving incidents in the past week, and Gardai are appealing to people if they are going out for Christmas parties or social nights, to be aware of not being over the limit when they drive the next morning, as Gardai will be doing checkpoints from as early as 7am at random locations.
SIX PUBLIC ORDER OFFENCES
Over the past week, there were six public order offences, more than there would be in an average month and they were all related to people who were under the influence of alcohol.
THEFTS
Between November 27 and 30, a shed was broken into at Carrig, Glenville and a horse saddle and other tackle was stolen while on December 2, a safe was taken from a shed on the Main Street in Rathcormac.
TRAFFIC COLLISIONS
Over the past week, there have been five traffic collisions in Mitchelstown, Castletownroche, on the motorway near Kilworth and two in Fermoy. Drivers are being urged to make sure their lights are working and to be aware of road conditions, while pedestrians should also be wearing high visibility jackets, even if they are walking in well lit up areas.
