Ballysaggart’s hotshot Becky Fennessy is among three ladies celebrating a strong result at the recent Clay Shooting Home International Tournament in Bedford in the UK.
The Irish ladies’ team finished in second place in the competition making it a particular success for the local woman, as it was her first time shooting for the Irish team.
Speaking with The Avondhu, Becky explained that she has only been involved in the sport for about two years.
“I actually got involved in it through my boyfriend. He shot for Ireland last year. He’s been at it for about five or six years now. I started watching him really at the beginning and he said one day ‘Do you want to have a go at it?’ and that was only about two years ago. I said I would and I kind of got hooked then and bought my own gun,” she said.
