The AOSTA conference, a highlight in the social calendar for many older people, will this year be held in Mitchelstown, instead of Charleville, with a number of interesting talks and topics up for discussion.

Taking place in The Firgrove Hotel on April 9, the conference would appeal to local active retirement groups, community care groups and anyone interested in what the day has in store. The day combines issues of health, finance and general interest with entertainment, as the comedy act 'Bachelors in Trouble' will perform.

Looking at some health issues, clinical nurse specialist Eleanor O'Connell, will talk about dealing with incontinence, while Fermoy based medical herbalist Margaret Noonan will talk to people about how the use of herbs can empower them to make choices that will improve their health and well-being.

Sr Una Boland will talk to people about coping with stress and Mallow solicitor, Richard Hammond will give people advice and guidance on making a will.

The conference costs €25 per person and this includes refreshments on arrival and a light lunch. As places are limited, those interested are asked to register with Bridie Milward in Castlelyons before March 31.
