Under the direction of their officers and coaches, Avondhu Boys & Girls Boxing Club are providing an important sporting outlet for the youth of Fermoy.

This relatively new club are based in the CYM&WS Hall where intense but enjoyable training sessions are held. Good discipline and respect for others is insisted upon and at a time when there's a huge amount of coverage about childhood obesity, the good news from Avondhu B.C. is that all its boxers are super fit.

A recent sponsored walk proved to be very successful with €683 raised. This money has been spent on new tracksuits which bears the club crest. The youngsters are delighted with their new look and a special word of thanks is due to club treasurer, Anita Frawley who helped co-ordinate the walk.
