Community to get behind Kilbehenny’s Tidy Towns effort
The secondary school academic year is reaching a critical point as junior certificate and leaving certificate pupils prepare themselves for the challenges of exams.
Annual awards provide some welcome relief for hardworking students, as well as being a chance for family and friends to share in a pupil's success. Loreto Secondary School, Fermoy hosted their awards on Friday night last with past pupil, Maree Flynn-Wilkinson the guest speaker.
Maree spoke about the influence of teachers and friendships made during her time in Loreto. Following successful leaving certificate results she attended Thomond College in Limerick (physical education and mathematics) before enlisting in the Irish Defence Forces where she rose through the ranks to become a senior officer.
