Local insurance institute presidents and their councils do fantastic work on behalf of their local insurance community and The Insurance Institute of Ireland (III). Brian O'Dwyer of Willis Risk Services was invested as President of The Insurance Institute of Cork (IIC) at its most recent AGM where he had this to say on his appointment.

"My focus for this year is to work at highlighting the benefits of Local Institute involvement to industry employers in the area, seeking their endorsement and encouragement for staff to participate in IIC events. I genuinely believe industry buy-in is key to helping our members achieve their professional goals.

"Ours is a relationship business and the IIC brings together representatives from all corners of our profession for CPD events, revision and seminars that are complimented by a full calendar of social events. These unique networking opportunities are invaluable in an industry built around people.

With a 5% increase in IIC membership last year and at 91 years since our foundation, I'm committed to doing my part to ensure that our Local Institute hits the century mark in good health."
