A priest has been appointed to fill the void left by the tragic deaths of two curates who died within months of each other in the parish of Glenbrohane.
Fr Joe Tynan, who is currently ministering in Kilteely/Dromkeen, will take over responsibility as administrator in Glenbrohane after the untimely passing of both Fr John Ryan and Fr Willie Hennessy.
The priest was appointed by Archbishop Kieran O’Reilly in recent days and he will take up his role shortly.
Fr Joe said that the devastation and sadness left by the deaths of the two popular priests – long-time friends and colleagues of his – has left a lasting feeling in the parish.
