A local councillor has raised concerns for The Avondhu area-based frontline delivery drivers who are unable to obtain medical certificates to renew their licence.
Cllr Frank Roche has said that he has received a number of calls by delivery drivers who are unable to obtain renewal of licences due to Covid-19 restrictions.
“These are the people working on the frontline delivering to shops and other outlets. A number of drivers have told me that they are unable to renew their licences because they cannot obtain a certificate from a doctor and the eye sight test.
“Clearly they are concerned that they may be stopped by the gardai and would face sanction. I’m calling on the licensing authority to do something that would help these workers.”
