Lauren Crowley from Conna had the experience of a lifetime when she wore the Irish jersey for the very first time, rowing for the Junior Women Sculling Team at the Home International Regatta in Strathclyde in Scotland on July 27.
The 17-year-old has been rowing with Fermoy Rowing Club with the past four years and the sport has now become her passion.
“One of the girls that I was friends with in first year in Loreto was in the rowing club and she just said to me ‘oh we have training tonight you should come down’ and I did and I knew straight away that it was the sport for me,” Lauren told The Avondhu.
