Olive Hogan from Ballyduff captained the Irish Ladies Open Tag-Rugby Team at the World Cup at the end of 2018, bringing them to bronze medal success.
The team left Ireland on Monday October 22nd bound for the Tag Rugby World Cup in Coffs Harbour, Australia. After arriving in Sydney on Tuesday evening, the team started straight into an intense training camp schedule the following morning.
This meant training twice a day, a four hour session in the morning and a three hour session in the evening so as to avoid the intense midday sun.
“Our first game was against the Sydney Shark,” Olive explained. “It was a tough game, we were down 4-1 at half-time but showed grit and determination in the second half to win the game 7-4 …”
