Glanworth Bowling Club is delighted to announce that all the fundraising in the past few months has finally paid off as we have taken delivery of our defibrillator and wall cabinet, which can be a life saver.

"It was a great effort from everyone involved in the fundraising campaign and I would like to extend my gratitude to all who helped out and sponsored us as this would not have been possible otherwise. It has been kindly installed at the entrance to Flynn's Shop and Post Office on the Main Street in Glanworth, thanks to the Flynn family", Billy McAuliffe explained to The Avondhu

"With a large attendance we had the official blessing by our own Sr Anna Ahern who was on hand to do the honours and we would like to thank Sr Anna for her kind words of support", Billy said.

"We are going to hold two training sessions, paramedics John Houlihan and Padraig O'Connor, have generously offered their time for this. So I would urge anybody who would like to get involved and trained in the use of the defibrillator / first aid to please attend one of the training sessions in Glanworth Community Hall on Thursday, 26/3/15 at 8pm or Saturday 28/3/15 at 10.30am. This is a defibrillator for the whole community, though we hope it will be rarely if ever needed, though if needed it can be invaluable in saving lives", Billy concluded.
