95 year old Peg’s daily exercise a lesson to us all

Peg Hunter, who lives outside Fermoy and turns 96 this coming August, clearly believes that age is ‘just a number’.

Every day, weather permitting, Peg, accompanied by a family member, takes to the park in Fermoy where she walks a full circuit.

Peg then makes her way to the cross-trainer machine which she calls her ‘bicycle’ and does 100 steps, before finishing up with another two rounds of the park.

Local Fermoy photographer John O’Connell met Peg in the Town Park last week in the middle of her exercise regime.

“She’s putting us all to shame,” he said, referring to her commitment to exercise and getting outdoors.
