RACING REVIEW

Conna rider Johnny Barry got in on the act at Killarney on Wednesday last as Staging Post, ridden patiently, took the bumper at 16/1.

Doneraile’s Darragh O’Keeffe was seen to good effect on the Thursday card at the same venue, when steering Crazywork De Vassy to victory in the handicap chase at odds of 4/1.

Mallow trainer Paul O’Flynn has a nice prospect on his hands in West Cork Wildway, who was sent off 4/7 favourite in the division two of Killarney’s maiden hurdle on Saturday, showing lots of stamina to win by a length, with O’Keeffe on board.

Shane Crosse from Cahir is having a fine career so far, and he partnered up with boss Joseph O’Brien to take the opening maiden with Earth Strike at Leopardstown on Thursday.

Kilmallock-based and Cheltenham festival winning trainer Pat O’Donnell got on the score-sheet for the first time since 2011 when winning the Diarmuid Cronin Electrical Handicap (division two) at Killarney on Friday with Dragon Of Malta, with Crosse doing the steering on the 100/30 chance.
