Medics in Mitchelstown battling logistical problems around vaccine delivery, hope to complete their 80 to 84 age cohort this week and in so doing, deliver its one thousandth dose of the vaccine as delivery figures improve. This would involve giving the second dose of the Pfizer vaccine.
Julie Beamish of the Livinghealth Clinic said the plan was that there would be vaccinations on Friday. The centre also hopes to deliver 75% of the 75 to 79 age cohort but she said this was based on supply.
Ms Beamish said that LivingHealth had noticed a marked increase in communication from the HSE and a greater logistical certainty.
“We are moving in the right direction and there is an increase in supply from April 12 projected. Some people who are attending with their spouse are unfortunately not eligible to receive their dose. We must play by the rules,” Julie said.
