Youngest finalist in national song contest hails from Cork

Cork county had only one successful competitor to participate in the final of the Le Crunch Apple Of My Eye competition, at the tender age of 14.

A young boy from Cork who had his version of 'Little Things' by One Direction aired on national radio, is the youngest finalist, at only 14, in a national song competition and the only person from Cork to have gotten picked out of more than 500 entrants.

Evan Murray from Dunmanway, is now in with the chance of winning the Le Crunch Apple Of My Eye competition, run by Le Crunch and Today FM and by the end of today (Thursday), he could be €8,000 richer. He will now perform in front of a panel of judges, which includes Paul Walsh of Roy Seven and Roisin O at the national final today, Thursday, March 28 in the Sugar Club in Dublin, to be broadcast live on the KC Show on Today FM.
