Work has finally begun on the redesign and village enhancement works at Conna Cross.

Although the works were due to begin back in October, works did not commence until the early last week due to disruption caused by Storm Ophelia.

The works, which are due to continue for the next few months, will deliver a very scenic approach to the village from all approach roads and the improvements are welcomed in the area.

Funding for the improvements has come from Cork County Council as part of the Village Enhancement Scheme and junction improvement works.

It will have new specially selected trees, lighting, five parking spaces near the bridge and a very impressive artistic centrepiece.
