Remedial works to upgrade the insulation in houses in the Lios Oir estate in Fermoy are due to start before the end of the month, members of Fermoy Town Council were told at their meeting on Tuesday evening.

Cllr Tadhg O’Donovan welcomed the news, saying it showed a committment to get the work started at last. Cllr Michael Hanley also welcomed the news. Cllr Noel McCarthy who had left the meeting before the matter was discussed, said he hoped the timing would be adhered to as they’d been promised previously the work would get underway in May and again in July.
