Gardai were called to a flat in Patrick Street, Fermoy on Monday night where a 23-year-old woman had collapsed. She was taken by ambulance to the Mercy Hospital in Cork for treatment of a suspected drugs overdose. The woman, who was visiting the flat, at the time is from Dublin.

A number of substances found in the flat and believed to be drugs were seized by Gardai and have been sent away for analysis. A 26-year-old man who was at the flat at the time and understood to be from Cork city, is helping the Gardai with their enquiries.

The woman was later discharged from hospital.
