Mitchelstown writer William Trevor was one of three artists conferred the honour of Saoi at a ceremony presided over by President Michael D. Higgins in Dublin on last Tuesday, September 15.

Visual artist Imogen Stuart and writer Edna O’Brien also received the accolade as ‘Saoithe in Aosdána’.
