The triathlon scene remains strong in Ireland with this iron-man/woman format of running, swimming and cycling appealing to ever increasing numbers. Based in Fermoy but attracting members from throughout the region, Blackwater Triathlon Club is highly regarded in triathlon circles.
The club’s profile has been further enhanced by its hosting of an annual triathlon competition – an event that benefits from the input of main sponsor, The Edge Sports Shop in Cork City. The 9th Blackwater Sprint Triathlon took place last Saturday with over 300 men and women signing up for the challenge.
