A great crowd of staff members from Farrell's Centra, Mitchelstown along with customers and people from the town took to the pavements at the weekend to support the walk and run in aid of Action Breast Cancer.

This is the second year of the walk and Trish Farrell told The Avondhu that they are delighted with the support they got and a lot of people joined in on the walk, as they went towards St Fanahan's Well and back.

There have been collection buckets in store since the beginning of October and the walk was a great way to boost awareness, while they will continue to collect funds for Action Breast Cancer until the end of October. The walk gave a great boost to the fundraising and if anyone wishes to organise their own event, they can visit www.centra.ie and click on the Brighten Up Your Day tab.

"A lot of people made a great effort to wear pink to highlight the cause as well," Trish added.

While the weather was very favourable on the day, the refreshments afterwards were very welcome and it was a great community event, which raised awareness of breast cancer.

Farrell's Centra will not have a final count on their fundraising until the end of the month and they want to thank everyone who has supported the campaign so far.
