On Sunday, July 16th, Melleray Vintage Club are back with a Vintage Silage Working Day and Full Vintage Show. After a break from silage for a few years, we are delighted that our club president Paddy O’Keeffe along with his neighbour Aidan Ahearn have kindly provided a wonderful site for this vintage working day.
The site is in scenic West Waterford located between Dungarvan and Cappoquin near Whitechurch, Ballnameela, Dungarvan, Co Waterford. The site is accessible from all areas being 40 minutes from Waterford and 55 minutes from Cork. All traffic should enter the site from the N72 and the entrance will be signposted on the N72 main Cappoquin Dungarvan road from both Cappoquin and Dungarvan.
GREAT ENTERTAINMENT
On the day, from 12.30 to 5pm Finbarr Dennehy and Pat Daly will provide musical entertainment and social dancing for those that want to show their dancing steps. There will be single chop, double chop and precision chop silage harvesters in action.
We are delighted to once again have entries from all over Ireland and maybe even a few further away and we continue to take entries from all Vintage (strictly pre 1992) silage equipment including trailers. Entry fee €20 and each participant will receive a plaque and food voucher.

Please note that all participants will need to have insurance cover and all guards and covers including PTO guards need to be in place or participation on the day will not be allowed. Exhibits and harvesters are welcome to arrive from Saturday morning to set up harvesters. We will have a display area for stationary engines, vintage cars, tractors and motorbikes.
There are children’s amusements, a food village and lots of trade stalls for the shopping enthusiasts, so this promises to be a great day out for all the family.
