First responders (locally based medics who can respond to a variety of incidents) are proving to be a vital cog in the area of emergency medicine.
Rathcormac is fortunate to have such a voluntary service and to date, they've tended to numerous instances of people in distress.
Rathcormac First Responders received a timely boost recently when they heard their organisation would receive the proceeds from a forthcoming vintage road run being organised by members of Rathcormac Vintage Club.
The run, which is in its 12th year, takes place on Sunday next (25th March) – assembling at the car boot sale site in Rathcormac at 10am. Participants can register here – the departure time is 11.30am sharp.
The event was formally launched at The Rathcormac Inn last Sunday. Here, vintage club members and first responder volunteers posed for a publicity photograph.
The Rathcormac based unit said they were delighted with the generous gesture from the vintage club. In reply, a vintage club spokesperson said they were more than happy to assist.
Refreshments will be served in The Rathcormc Inn on completion of the route.
