Update on Kildorrery water issues welcomed

With an expected 3 week period before a further update on the Kildorrery water issues becomes available from the contractors, a hydraulic model of the network is currently being undertaken.

A letter from Irish Water regarding mains rehabilitation in Kildorrery was read out at the Northern Committee's July meeting in Mallow. The company had given approval for the construction of a new reservoir to serve the lower part of the village in January at a cost of €200,000 and this is progressing.

Cork County Council is managing the new reservoir project on behalf of Irish Water and it has been agreed that a hydraulic model of the water network in Kildorrery would be completed. This hydraulic model would include the new reservoir and identify areas where water mains rehabilitation may be required, as well as ........
