A young Mitchelstown man was the victim of an unprovoked assault as he made his way home in the early hours of last Sunday morning. The man had been on a night out in the town and was walking home along a lane off James’s Street when he was set upon and beaten up by a lone individual. He suffered bruising but nothing was taken from him. The incident was reported to the gardai who are investigating.
