Last Saturday, March 16th the U14 team, mentors and helpers travelled to Dublin to Croke Park to watch Limerick take on Dublin in the National Hurling League. The day was made all the sweeter when Limerick were the victorious team, winning 1-21 to 1-15.

Dublin then took on Tyrone in the National Football League. This was a very successful day out and it was a fantastic experience visiting Croke Park for such a big day.

A quick pit stop on the way home and all were returned safely to Galbally and Knocklong late that night. A sincere word of thanks must go to all who organised the day, who supported the U14s fundraising efforts to take them to Dublin and especially to all those who travelled on the day or helped out in any way. Many thanks to you all.

LOTTO €6,400

The lotto was held in The Hill Bar on Monday night. Top prize is €6,400 and there was no winner. The numbers were 5, 9, 20, 25. The €20 lucky dip winners were: John Murnane, Aaron Russell, Batty Hanley, Jimmy Burke and Archie Houlihan.

Next week’s draw is in The Welcome Inn. Also on the night the Bord na nOg had the draw for their ‘Predict the Score’ competition, the top prize was a signed Limerick Jersey. John Joe Wallace of Knocklong was the winner. Congratulations John Joe!

Under 21

The Garryspillane U21s took on Monagea on Monday in Monagea. The final score was Garryspillane 3-11 Monagea 2-10.
