Saturday, March 2nd saw the Garryspillane GAA U14 hurlers and the Galbally U13 footballers receive their county medals. The presentation night was held in Knocklong and the medals were presented by Limerick goalie, Nicky Quaid.
There were some very eloquent speeches on the night with great praise given to the players and mentors. The parents were thanked for bringing the children to the training sessions as well as helping take the players to all the matches. Both teams fought hard to get to the finals and the victories were well deserved. These are the young men that will be representing us at the Feile 2013 celebrations in July.
A special word of thanks must go to the team coaches and mentors that put great effort into both teams over the long 2012 season. Here’s wishing both teams and mentors continued success into 2013.
The U21s played against Granagh in Ballingarry last Saturday. Garryspillane U21s won 2-11 to 0-14. Chief scorer on the day was Colin Ryan with 1-5. Their next match is against Monagea on Monday, March 18th in Monagea at 3pm. Your support would be much appreciated.
