They make a great team, Kilworth Celtic and Grzegorz Kowalczyk, who's been working with them since late January.

Grzegorz is employed by Avondhu Blackwater Partnership under the Tús Initiative and while the weather has been less than favourable for much of that time, his work is plain to be seen by all who use the club. Grzegorz has been engaged in a variety of tasks, including grass cutting, repair of the pitch after games and lining the pitch for matches.

Trainers, players and supporters appreciate the work that goes into maintaining a pitch which is used so frequently in Kilworth.

Grzegorz, who originally hails from Poland, enjoys his work in Kilworth as soccer is an important part of life for the Polish community.

Gus Shanahan, Chairperson of Kilwoth Celtic says of Grezorgz: "He is now a vital part of our team here and his work and dedication to the club is very much appreciated by all. He has made our life here in the club much easier and allows us to concentrate on other aspects which we previously didn't have time for.”

So the next time you go out to train, play a game or support your child think of all the effort that has gone in beforehand and if you see Grzegorz out doing his work take the time to say a thank you to him. Without him and the effort of others, maybe the game would never be played!!!

Avondhu Blackwater Partnership and Kilworth Celtic thank Grzegorz for his continued hard work.
