A team of young people from The Avondhu catchment area are travelling to Kazakhstan later this year where they will represent The Greater Chernobyl Cause.

With finance high on the agenda, these young women have held a series of fundraisers.

On Thursday last, Glanworth Community Centre hosted a coffee/tea day. The event proved to be a wonderful success with the public digging deep to assist the local ladies.

As well as donations, there was a monster raffle for an array of attractive prizes (all generously sponsored).

The girls were delighted with the level of support they received and they take this opportunity to sincerely thank everyone who contributed.

The challenge these volunteers are taking on is considerable, however, they are all determined to do their utmost for those still suffering the effects of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster.
