An update on progress regarding the old fire station in Fermoy was sought by Cllr Frank O’Flynn, at last Monday morning’s County Council meeting in Mallow.
Cork County Council intend building two apartments at the town centre location. Fine Gael’s Noel McCarthy said he was worried about the time frame.
“To be honest chairman, I’m worried about this time frame. The building has been derelict for 10 years and the people I’m meeting every day are asking ‘what’s happening with the place?” Cllr McCarthy said.
The official situation is that the refurbishment project is at ‘stage one’ and ‘seeking approval to proceed’.
