The hilarious ‘Hunt for Red Willie’ continues at Friars’ Gate

Friars’ Gate’s production of the fast moving comedy, 'The Hunt for Red Willie' by Ken Bourke continues for one more weekend from Thursday 4th to Sunday, 7th December.

On a remote stretch of bog in Donegal in 1829, a local landlord meets his end after an encounter with the notorious Red Willie. What follows is a bawdy romp full of adventure, romance and innuendo, fast paced and witty with a delectable plot full of twists and turns and playful echoes of some of the classic plays of Irish theatre.

Directed by Joan Sheehy, the cast includes - Annie Casey, Michael Dennehy, Mandy Donworth, Eilish Heffernan, Max Hennessey, Liam Houlihan, Robert Lee, Jim Lynch, Paul McCarthy and Sharon O’Carroll. Tickets €15/€12.

CHRISTMAS BY CANDLELIGHT  

On Wednesday, 10th December AT 8pm, West End singer Aileen Donohoe ('Wicked', 'Mamma Mia', 'The Phantom of the Opera', 'Beauty and the Beast') will perform an eclectic Christmas concert at Friars' Gate that is filled with Yule-tide favourites in 'Christmas by Candlelight'. Aileen will be accompanied, on piano, by West End musical director Robert Scott ('Singin' in the Rain', 'Chitty Chitty Bang Bang', 'She Loves Me', 'Oliver') who has composed special arrangements for the occasion.
