Michael Dennehy is back and with him, he brings his crew of comedic characters, some faces old, some new, some borrowed and some resembling things you might find down the loo.

'The Gathering' is a story of three old Irish bachelor brothers, living in a rat infested, God forsaken, down right dirty shack. Their appearance resembles that of a pack of manky, mangy mhadraí with their thick black dirt lines and their unkempt yellow cruibins. With broad toothless smiles and beaded eyes, trot on into the night you greedy little pigs!

This boorish bloodline ends not here, for these three savage brothers, have three savage sisters, each more wanton than the last. One is mad, the other sad and the last is bad, bad, bad! Their offspring is oversprung and out of whack. Juicy apples fall not far from disingenuous trees. So, choose very wisely indeed, for the sweetest fruit in this case, bears the blackest core!

The pillars of society sway under this heavy, heaving burden. Try as they may to tame these beasts, they drown in the depths of their standards. Who will save their wretched souls, and what for the soul-less ones? Pray for us father!

Get ready to laugh till your socks fall off and your stomach crawls into your mouth, your eyes cross over, your sides stitched up and the spit runs right out of your mouth. So buckle up tight for this pure delight, as Michael D gets ready for flight. We hope you all enjoy the show but, between you and me, avoid the very front row!

Running from the 16th to the 19th January, doors open at 7.30pm in Kildorrery Church Hall. Tickets cost €8 per adult and €3 per child are on sale now in Thornhill's Opticians, Kildorrery, phone 022-25163. This is a ticket only event and seating is limited so please purchase your tickets before the event to avoid disappointment.
