Members of Castlelyons National School Parents' Association aimed high by booking Corrin Event Centre for their high profile 'Taste of the Blackwater Valley' fundraiser which took place recently.

This hardworking group of volunteers, who had the support of teaching staff and fellow parents, backed themselves to attract the numbers needed to make the venture a success. Long hours of planning and all the dotting of 'i's and crossing of 't's paid off in spades when over 300 paid in to see a cookery demonstration by award winning chef and author, Catherine Fulvio.

Catherine said she was very impressed by the professionalism and enthusiasm of the organising committee, whose officers were: Janice Maher (chairperson) Olivia Stack (secretary) and Siobhan Dooley (treasurer) - this trio were assisted by Amanda O'Connell, Nora Cummins and Genevieve O'Neill.
