Not resting on her laurels from her success two weeks ago at Royal Curragh Golf Club in Co Kildare where she won the Mid Leinster senior ladies golf championship, 14 year old Valerie Clancy from Mitchelstown is currently in Leeds competing in the British ladies amateur stroke play championship.

Speaking to The Avondhu her mother Nora said that Valerie has been playing golf since the age of 10 and it would be fair to say that she comes from a golfing family.
