Supt. Corbett hoping to keep visible Garda presence locally

An increased Garda presence has been noted on the streets, particularly in Fermoy, with locals reporting that it’s a welcome sight.

Speaking with The Avondhu, new Fermoy Superintendent Michael Corbett said that this is a key objective for the area and he hopes to maintain a visible Garda presence on the streets in 2023.

Supt Corbett, a native of Ballyhea, was appointed to the Fermoy District in October 2022, having previously served on the National Community Engagement Bureau with responsibility for the National Community Policing Unit and National Garda Diversity Unit at Harcourt Square in Dublin.
