The Marketing Institute Ireland (MII), Cork branch is revving up the DeLorian as they prepare to escort Cork’s business and marketing community back to the era of electronic music, yuppies and big hair, with this year’s ‘Back to the 80’s’ Ball!
MII Cork Ball Chair, Leigh Gillen of Leigh Gillen Events, promises that it will be a night of glamour, great music, and good vibes, all while having the opportunity to network and raise funds for an extremely worthy Cork based charity, Cork Cancer Care Centre. Leigh and her team are hoping to beat last year’s raffle total of €7,500 to help the people of Cork.
Blasting off at 6pm on Saturday, March 9th at Vienna Woods Hotel, Cork, attendees are encouraged to dress to impress in their finest black-tie attire with an optional stylish 80s twist.
The evening will begin with a complimentary Disaronno and Kylie Prosecco drinks reception (compliments of the super rad drinks partner, Barry & Fitzwilliam) to the backdrop of the wicked Colm O’Sullivan spinning the hottest tracks, capturing the essence of the era. The Cork’s RedFM DJ will then commence his MC duties, as guests enjoy a sumptuous four-course feast with wine.
The highlight of the night is set to be the live floor filling music from the iconic Spring Break – Europe’s premier good time supergroup, who will also close out the night with a DJ set.
Those who have attended the MII Cork Ball before, will know that one of the biggest bonuses of the night is the infamous goody bag (worth over €200), and yes, you’ve guessed it, there will be one for everyone in the audience again this year. Not only that, but those who are generous enough to take part in the charity raffle, are in with a chance of winning some incredible prizes.
Cork Cancer Care Centre, based on Paul Street, Cork, provide services such as counselling, a range of complimentary therapies (such as Reiki, Reflexology, access bars, Integrated Energy Therapy, Indian Head Massage, Lymphatic Drainage) and a drop-in centre during the day for all people affected by cancer.
