Just over five weeks till the biggest event ever to hit the Avondhu area on St Patrick’s weekend comes to Mitchelstown, Coolenave Industrial Estate! If you didn’t see last week’s issue of The Avondhu Newspaper then here is a short explanation of this huge event being organised by Mitchelstown Rugby Club.
On 16th March Mitchelstown and its surrounds will see up to 30 males and females taking to a boxing ring, after just 8 weeks training from top coach, Seanie Barrett, and his training team for a white collar boxing fundraiser! These 30 men and women are from all over the Avondhu area, just to mention a few outside Mitchelstown, Kildorrery, Kilbehenny, Glanworth, Ballyporeen and many others! Next week’s issue of The Avondhu will see many of these boxers being announced to the public along with which club or group each boxer will be representing! There will be up to 15 3-round bouts with the boxers being matched evenly for each bout! We will have two 10 metre screens so you won’t get a chance to miss a second of any of the fights be it at the bar or while ordering food or a hot beverage.
OFFICIAL LAUNCH NIGHT
The official launch of this event is taking place at 9pm next Thursday, Feb 7th in the SuperValu premises in New Square, Mitchelstown and is been kindly hosted by Alan Reidy and his team. We will have all the participating boxers and sponsors in attendance on the night. Also if you would like to get involved in the event be it sponsorship or just to give a helping hand then come along and meet the organisers. Tickets will also be available to buy on the night.
TICKETS
With all tickets now out on sale between boxers, club members and designated ticket outlets and with a massive interest in the event we do expect to have all these tickets sold within the next few weeks. So we do encourage people to buy their tickets early as once they are gone they are gone! Our official ticket outlet is Coral Dry Cleaners in Tesco Units, Mitchelstown but as mentioned above the tickets can also be purchased from any Mitchelstown RFC Committee member or contact Lisa Sheehan on 086 357 4618
WIN GREAT PRIZES ON THE NIGHT
You can also win on the night, without ever putting on a glove, as there will be a fantastic raffle with only top quality prizes. Top of the bill at the moment are a weekend of your choice for 2 plus evening meal in the 4-star Dingle Skellig Hotel & Spa and a full weekend pass with camping for 2 to Indiependence Music Festival in Mitchelstown and a 6 weeks personal training package from Believe 2 Achieve Personal Training Centres. There will be more to be added soon.
