A large and appreciative crowd of parents and supporters attended the St. Joseph's National School, Fermoy end of term variety concert. The much anticipated concert took place in the comfortable surroundings of Fermoy Community Youth Centre with pupils from junior infants to sixth class taking part.

It was evident from the level of performance that a great deal of preparation went in to producing the show. Everything from the lighting, sound, props and costumes was of a very high standard. Audience reaction to the different acts was excellent and students really enjoyed the 'live' experience. There was also plenty of evidence to suggest we will be seeing a lot more from these talented individuals in the years ahead.

Organisers were delighted with the turnout and this, allied to a well supported raffle, meant the event was a resounding financial success.

Reacting to the concert, local councillor, Noel McCarthy said he wasn't in the least bit surprised by the quality of the entertainment as St. Joseph's National School in Fermoy placed great store in the performing arts.

"The school has excellent teachers who are always encouraging the children to express themselves musically and artistically, everyone who attended tonight was really well entertained and again I must compliment all those involved" he said.
