As many readers will have noticed, the St Colman’s College sportsfield on the Cork Road in Fermoy is at present the subject of boundary enhancements and improvement.

The old boundary between the sports field and the road (now home to a 1.25km health walk), was made up of a combination of beech and griselinia hedging – which had never fully recovered from the big freeze in 2010.
