The Spring Mass that was cancelled in March due to bad weather has now been rescheduled to take place at the site of the old Knockadea school on this Friday, April 12 at 8pm.

On the night, animals, pets, land, water, flowers, fire and stone will all be blessed and people are welcome to bring their pets along to have them blessed by Fr Tom Breen of Ballylanders.

The Mass is the first of its kind in the area and it follows on from the very successful live crib at Christmas.

The patron saint of Knockadea was St Mologga, who was very strongly associated with stones and if people bring containers, they can take home some blessed holy water, stones or soil.

The Mass will be celebrated by Fr Breen and the children from Knockadea NS will be assisting.

There will also be a basket collection on the day to help defray the costs from the night and all support would be greatly appreciated.

A marquee will be erected to give additional space and provide shelter during the Mass, while refreshments will be served afterwards in the Knockadea Community and Sports Club and any donations of home baking would be gratefully received.

All are welcome to what promises to be a unique and exciting community event.
