Local clubs clash in South Limerick Senior Football Final on Saturday
Sports clubs and groups are being reminded to prepare their applications for grants under the new Sports Capital Programme, applications for which will be accepted from 12 noon on Friday, January 17th.
Speaking of the €40 million announced for the 2014 sports capital programme, Fianna Fáil TD for Cork South Central, Micheál Martin said: “Whether it’s the installation of floodlights, new pitches, improved drainage, building sports halls or dressing rooms, the investment in local sports clubs is of huge benefit to communities and encourages more young people to be active.
“Applications for the Sports Capital Programme will only be accepted online and organisations need to be registered in order to apply, so I am encouraging groups to prepare their applications now.
“You can register at www.sportscapitalprogramme.ie. The 2014 scheme will be open for applications from 12 noon on Friday, January 17th. Organisations must register by 5pm on Friday, February 7th and the deadline for applications is 5pm on Friday, February 28th.”
There is also support for organisations that have questions about the programme. Enquiries can be made to 064-6627301 or you can also contact Mr Martin’s constituency office on 021-4320088.
