Second year students at the Loreto in Fermoy got into the Hallowe'en spirit before they headed off for their mid-term break on Friday last with a scary short-story competition and fancy dress event.

Rebecca Doocey's entry in the short story competition was the winner while Shauna Heggtveit and Lottie Byran-O'Connor came in joint second. Some of the teachers joined in the fancy dress fun with Liam O'Mahony making a big effort to render himself both scary and funny.

Students from Transition Year got in on the act, judging the costumes in the fancy dress. After the prizes were awarded there was just time for refreshments before students parted for their Hallowe'en break.
