Garryspillane GAA

The intermediate team won their first bit of silverware this year in the South intermediate hurling final in Hospital last Monday evening. It was a great evening for a game and this aided with the high standard of hurling on the night.

The full time score was Garryspillane 3-14 Effin 2-10. As a result of this win we are now in the South senior hurling quarter-finals.

The next round of the All County Leagues is pencilled in for Tuesday, 21 June against Ballybrown in Knocklong at 7.30pm.

Well done to Gearoid Power who over the Cloverfield NS hurling team who won in the 7-a-side schools final in the Gaelic Grounds this week.

Training

Training continues every Monday evening in Knocklong sports field for kids from junior infants to U12 from 7-8pm. Any queries contact Kevin on 087-6790775. New players always welcome.

Board na nOg are holding a clothing recycling drive every Monday evening at the sports field in Knocklong from 7-8pm. Items accepted include wearable clothes, bed linen, towels, curtains, shoes, bags, toys and also laptops and mobile phones.

If you cant make it to the field on Monday nights contact either Kevin O’Keeffe or Donie Ryan who can organise alternative collections.

Lotto

There was no winner in this week’s lotto. The numbers were 2, 19, 30, 31. The lucky dip winners were: Joshua Ryan, Esther Ryan and family, Margaret Walsh, Billy Harty Snr., Ger Doyle. Next week’s jackpot will be €4,250 and takes place in The Welcome Inn, Garryspillane.
