Cork County Council has unveiled plans to construct two social housing estates in Mitchelstown, with the ambition of commencing work in late 2017 and delivering the houses to tenants in 2018.

Plans are being made to construct nine terraced houses along the Brigown road, with a further three bungalow-style houses to be constructed close to Stag Park Close.

The development at Brigown is to include six two-bed, four-person houses and three three-bed, five-person houses.

The estate will include private and public open spaces, a single access road from Brigown road and sufficient car parking spaces for both residents and visitors.

The second estate is to include one three-bed house and two two-bed houses, with similar amenities including both private and public open spaces for residents.
