There was no shortage of representation from Skeheenarinky at this year’s St Patrick’s Day parade in Ballyporeen.

The Skeheenarinky Vintage Club won the first prize among the floats, displaying an extensive array of cars and machinery. Students from Skeheenarinky National School paid tribute to Garth Brooks, advertising the sixth night the country star would be playing in Ireland - but the venue being Ballyporeen Community Hall. The young supporters took second place in the floats section.

Other participating groups included the Skeheenarinky school hurling team and the Flower Club. Although the Flower Club may not have won a prize, its float, entitled 'Fifty Shades of Green', certainly added to the entertainment factor.

Several students from the school were commended for their artwork, including Mary Barrett, Gavin Canty, Jack O’Brien, and Katie Kelly.
