Limerick City and County Council have said that significant works have been completed to address the chlorine dosing issues which resulted in a precautionary boil water notice at Glenbrohane Group Water Scheme since May 2011.

They say that an issue remained with chlorine contact time to a property close to the treatment works but they have now installed UV primary treatment to address the chlorine contact time issue.

Following an audit they will advise the HSE of the completed works with a view to lifting the notice.

Works at Knockainey are also complete – updated UV systems.

There was no funding made available for the Griston works due to limited funding resources.

The last funding they received was for works completed in 2016 – loggers and scour valves.
